Submit a review for The Wiz
Following a recent live television broadcast, the 1975 Broadway hit and 1978 cult classic film The Wiz is coming to Chicago in a gritty reimagined new production that is sure to knock your socks off and change the way you think about the piece.
Packed full of incredible songs like “Ease on Down the Road,” “Home,” “Be a Lion,” and “Don’t Nobody Bring Me No Bad News” (to name a few), The Wiz is an urbanized retelling of L. Frank Baum’s classic 1900 children’s novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in the context of modern African-American culture that takes on new meaning in 2017.
Winning seven Tony awards including “Best Musical” and garnering four Academy Award nominations. The Wiz is a courageous whirlwind of brains, heart, and soul not to be missed!
